Building Healthy Relationships
Healthy relationships are built, not found. They grow through communication, reliability, and shared effort over time.
Communicate to understand, not to win. Listen all the way through before responding. Ask clarifying questions. Reflect back what you heard.
Make trust visible. Keep small promises. Show up when you say you will. Repair quickly when you drop the ball—own it and make a plan to prevent repeats.
Respect boundaries—yours and theirs. Discuss needs, preferences, and non-negotiables. Boundaries protect connection by reducing resentment.
Be generous with appreciation. Notice helpful efforts, name them out loud, and be specific. Shared gratitude strengthens the bond.
Invest in maintenance. Schedule regular check-ins about what’s going well, what’s hard, and what would make things better. Small tune-ups prevent bigger problems.
